Puppy and Pal at a SCA Event

Welcome to the Barony of Grey Niche!

The Newcomers Handbook listed here on this webpage is FULL of great information. However, if you are like me, you just want to jump in and read the directions later. Please feel free to do just that. Our meeting times and locations are listed in this website. My name is Gretchen Zimmermann and I am your local Chatelaine. That just means that I am someone that you can come to for help. Getting you started in the SCA is my job. The barony’s Chatelaine has loner garb, feast gear, and is here to answer questions you may have about what to do next; now that you have you found us. :)

Here is your first tip: Generally, we dress in medieval style clothing only at events and demonstrations. Please feel free to come to our weekly meetings in modern style clothes.

You can also find a great deal of information at the SCA Inc. - Information for Newcomers

More information will be placed on this page soon.

Demonstrations (Demo)
Teachers and others planning programs related to the Middle Ages and Renaissance are welcome to write to the SCA. Various useful publications are available, either free or for a nominal fee, and (where possible) the SCA arranges contacts with members who can set up demonstrations of combat, dance, heraldry or other themes designed to appeal to audiences of all ages.
